The Lands of Illinar
ehold the majestic Kingdom of Illinar, the realm of man. It is located in the distant west, beyond all known mountains, and charted seas. Illinar is a place much like your own. Monsters teem along the edges of the civilized lands, ever threatening to endanger the innocents who stray too far from the road. Adventurers thwart them, eager to do prove themselves and locate the age-old relics of the elves and dwarves they once thought friends. Its people toil and create great works, when they pass they are remembered for the good and the ill they have accomplished.

It is said that Illinar was the cradle of human civilization, the wellspring of our race. Early on, many large groups were sent to far-flung regions of the world in an attempt to populate it, and spread our people. Your realms are one location we sent thousands of folk to. Many years passed after we initially began settling there and the people of your realms, your forefathers went their own way, shutting our portals for their own reasons. We do not seek to condemn you, or make you beholden to us. We merely wish to educate you on what once had been.

But now war is upon this Kingdom, and its Queen has fled into hiding with her loyal supporters. In her place stands a brutal tyrant, who would make war on any who would seek to oppose him. The realm is splintered and breaking. People have no food, for many fields have been razed. Many bastions of evil have been rebuilt while this false king spends time scouring the realm for rebels, rather than defending it from the encroaching darkness that threatens to devour it. It is a black time for my people.

Perhaps in time my homeland will know peace once more, but between this day and that many swords must be broken, and shields splintered. A cursed traitor brought low. Will it or no, this realm is as much a part of you as the blood in your veins. Ride now then, lost brothers and sisters and welcome to Illinar! Welcome home!

Long live the Queen,

Aurelious Spattercast
